Meditation Monday: A Moment of Gratitude

At the beginning of the year, I announced some changes that would be happening at Living Within Your Soul as I work toward expanding my business and brand in 2022. I was excited to be writing more, offering new services, regular blogs and podcasts and branching into some retail and wellness classes and retreats. So what happened? Well. Let's talk about that. All of those things are still on the agenda and will be happening very soon, but the universe has opted to teach me a little lesson first about practicing what I preach.

I have a confession to make, I am not very good at taking care of me. My personal self-care journey has been quite the windy road over the years, and I tend to forget I'm on that path when the terrain gets a bit rough. This past fourteen months have been especially challenging in my world with a lot of major life changes (going back to school, empty nest, home and vehicle purchases, adopting a rescue dog, moving my business, etc.) along with some health concerns that are still getting sorted out. While I encourage my clients to make sure they are checking in with themselves and taking measures to stay balanced, I have not been great at doing the same for me. I have noticed that I have been just kind of coasting and surviving and I am no longer accepting that. What a blessing to have the tools and the knowledge to recognize my own nonsense and be able to take steps to pull out of it and continue growing and being the best human that I can be for myself and all of you.

Gratitude is my first step. I am so very grateful for each of my clients for trusting me with their care. No matter what you choose to come to me for, each of you are the reason I continue to do what I do every day. I appreciate the words, the referrals and the bonds we have built, and I am excited to continue working on my best self-care so I can continue to be a part of your best self-care.

Finding gratitude in challenging situations can be a pretty intense challenge in itself. It's easy to get wrapped up in the "suck" while we are going through it, especially when it seems as if it is a continuous stream of rough. While we must allow ourselves to feel the uncomfortableness, being able to recognize that it won't last forever and being grateful for the lessons and tools can offer a peace and light to get through it.

In your meditation today, I encourage you to reflect on what you can learn in your current situation. Are you struggling with a work/life balance? Family situations? Health concerns? Take a moment, write down a list of things to be grateful for and put it where you can see it. I promise, it will help. :)

Thank you for being you!
